Pledge for a Greener Earth: Energy Swaraj Foundation to Launch ‘Energy and Climate – Keep UPP’

The environment faces a dire need of protection from reckless exploitation of resources. To create awareness about this environmental crisis, India’s Energy Swaraj Foundation is launching its much-coveted programme ‘Energy and Climate – Keep UPP (Understand, Pledge and Progress) on World Earth Day on 22 April.

Energy Swaraj Foundation is India’s pioneering non-profit body working relentlessly to establish energy swaraj through solar energy across the world. The organisation was founded by India’s solar energy crusader – also popularly known as India’s Solar Gandhi – Dr. Chetan Singh Solanki.

Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank

The programme will be launched through an online event on this Earth Day – 22nd April 2021, 4.00 P.M. Shri. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Minister of Education, Government of India, will grace the event as the Chief Guest along with Dr Ajay Mathur, Director General, International Solar Alliance, as the Guest of Honour.

Besides, the programme will be attended by dignitaries including Prof. Anil Sashrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council of Technical Education, Prof. Subhasis Chaudhari, Director IIT Bombay, Shri. Narendra Singh, Institution of Engineers (India) as special guests. 

Dr Chetan Singh Solanki

Dr Chetan Singh Solanki, Professor of Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Mumbai, and Founder of Energy Swaraj Foundation will address the attendees and deliberate upon the aim of the ‘Energy and Climate – Keep UPP’ programme.

Along with Dr Solanki, Smt Karuna Singh, Regional Director, Asia Earth Day Network and Mr Prasanna Prabhu, Chairperson, Art of Living (VVKI) will also enlighten the participants with their insightful presentations.
