Germany based ZECHA, which has been a pioneer and trendsetter in the field of micromachining, blanking and forming tools over half a century, is all set to showcase its latest cutting tools and blanking & forming tools range at IMTEX 2019 in Bangalore from 24th to 30th January 2019.

With the changing market dynamics, industry product requirements are also fast changing, pushing manufacturers to innovate and also to upgrade deliverability. ZECHA, has always maintained its market leadership with its flexibility to this change and innovation accordingly. Some of the latest innovations that ZECHA presents at IMTEX 2019 are PEACOCK, SEAGULL, IGUANA AND MARLIN range of cutters and drillers.

Peacock Mill Cutters

The tried-and-tested PEACOCK mill cutters from ZECHA are the go-to tools for achieving fine contours in the HSC processing of highly alloyed and hardened steel up to 67 HRC. They effortlessly ensure precision, stability and smooth surfaces in different areas of application, particularly in mould making. A new family member, the 599 series, offers additional support for the mill cutters 581P, 583P and 597P.

The new mill cutter series offers ideal machining preconditions for a vast number of materials, material hardness values and alloying components such as, for example, powder metallurgical steels, tungsten copper, nickel-chromium alloys and cobalt chromium. Its special tool properties make the new family member eminently suitable both for finishing as well as roughing and its flexible and versatile properties can find efficient application in mould and tool making, the automotive and aerospace industries, light engineering as well as in medical technology.

The PEACOCK expansion contains ball and torus mill cutters with two or four flutes that will be gradually taking over the hard machining role from the well established 581H and 583H lines in Zecha's comprehensive tool range. The two-flute ball cutters are available in diameters 0.2 mm – 6.0 mm, whereas the four-flute variants in the 599 series come in selected dimensions with a diameter ranging from 3.0 mm to 6.0 mm. The torus mill cutters are available with two flutes in diameters 0.2 mm – 0.8 mm.

SEAGULL Mill Cutters

Graphite electrodes manufacture frequently gets affected by graphite dust. Electrode milling in conjunction with cooling lubricant offers a good alternative to dry working. Zecha's SEAGULL® tools demonstrates the numerous advantages of wet milling: cleaner working, more flexible machine utilisation, improved dimensioning and lower tool wear.

SEAGULL® mill cutters produce superbly fine ribs and the most intricate of electrode geometries: Patented short flutes – just 0.6 mm at a diameter of 2 mm – as well as a tailored combination of high quality hard metal, diamond coating and special geometry with the tightest of tolerances of just 5 µm ensure minimum flute pressure and cutting forces. This enables excellent surface qualities and maximum life cycles.

Zecha offers the SEAGULL® mill cutters in two quality categories: The quality line – subdivided into Series 568 (ball nose end mill) and Series 578 (end mill with corner radius) – offers optimum value for money for standard applications and is pitched at the price-conscious user, who still requires high quality machining results – even during wet milling. All SEAGULL® mill cutters are available in diameters from 0.3 mm up to 12 mm.

MARLIN Hard Cutting Tools

The long machining times of materials such as tungsten carbide lead to the highest level of manufacturing costs in tool and mould making with chances of sink erosion and grinding. MARLIN is the highly hard cutting tools series for the machining of solid carbide and ceramics.

ZECHA has launched six newly developed series for the machining of tungsten carbide and as such is breaking new ground in machining with geometrically specific flutes. High degree of efficiency harnessed to the latest technology provides many advantages over the hitherto conventional machining possibilities

The ball nose end milling cutters in the 900 series are available in diameters ranging from 0.2 mm to 6.0 mm in different free lengths. The ball nose end milling cutters in the 901 series have diameters from 0.2 mm to 6.0 mm and offer a very sharp cutting surface and as a result ensure even more precision on the component. The torus milling cutters in the 910 series and 911 come with different corner radii and free lengths in diameters ranging from 0.3 mm to 3.0 mm. For the drilling of solid carbide comes in the 970 series with diameters from 0.5 mm to 7,0 mm. Also threads M2 to M8 can be cut with tools in the 990 series. The grinding pins of Series 9910 are available in diameters ranging from 1.0 mm to 6.0 mm.

IGUANA Multi-Cutters

IGUANA ball nose, end mill with corner radius and micro end mills are revolutionising the market in the micro sector. They are multi-cutters in the small bore sector with sharp cutting edges and highly wear-resistant, sealed diamond coating – an absolute innovation.

Through the targeted processing of the cutting edges via laser technology (R=1μm) and the special cutting geometry, the cutting loads are reduced considerably. The result is a reduction in the generation of heat and a better geometrical and dimensional accuracy. This optimal tool geometry in combination with the sharp and sealed diamond coating leads to a longer service life.

An additional benefit of laser processing is tool cutting without clusters, which thus have a better surface quality in comparison with the previous diamond coated tools.

ZECHA was founded in 1964, by Mr. Erwin Zecha, at his own house with the production of special carbide tools for the cutting and punching applications and today the company has grown in its propositions and products range to become a market leader with extensive range of cutting tools, blank and forming tools as well as high precision laser machining centre.  ZECHA products and solutions lead in precision and quality which are key for the international employment in different industries, such as, for example, in medical and dental technology, the chronograph industry, automotive industry, or in tool and mould making.
