Dr. Kumaresh Krishnamoorty is an ENT specialist with a super-specialty in head and neck cancer surgeries and in neurotology from the USA and is currently based in Bengaluru. He has always been passionate about developing innovative solutions which will help to reduce healthcare expenditure. While talking about the history behind developing the product he said, “Sanitizing and disinfecting are 2 different processes and disinfecting through UV light gives the better result.” He added that the process is known universally and they came up with the idea before 2 years and patented before 6 months, it was market-ready about 2 months back. However, with the recent COVID19 outbreak, people realized the importance of the product.
AUM UVC Light Bot Room Sterilizer
While explaining the features of AUM UVC Bot Room Sterilizer Dr. Kumaresh said, “Our Bot is enabled with Ultraviolet-C (UVC) light and it causes irreversible damage and there are no known micro-organisms that are immune to UVC.” He added that The UV C light helps to reduce micro-organisms not only from the surfaces but also from the air of the indoor environment.
This AUM Bot is one of the most powerful UVC emitting devices currently available in the world market and enables faster and more effective disinfection within minutes. It can be operated via short cycles of 5-15 minutes and will not impact the function of any of the medical equipment and is harmless to delicate materials exposed. Every organism has a dose for achieving 99% disinfection at a distance of 3 meters (10 feet approx.).
Dr. Kumaresh also pointed out that Lot of people confuse the UV sterilization technology with UV light or bulb. Warning about the same he said, “ if you put a single UV bulb in a 20 by 20 room the dose reach across the room will be very minimal thereby making it ineffective against the germs. “To destroy a Fort one can’t use a Rifle, one has to use a Cannon”, he stated.
Making it in India
The product developed by AUM MedTech is made in India and affordable as compared to imported products.
In USA the same product is available at 125K US $ and with import cost it will cost more than 1.5 to 2 crore in India and we are selling the same products at 18-20 lakh and this price will be reduced once the supply chain and manpower becomes cheaper

In the USA these machines are widely used to disinfect the masks and gowns used by health workers. AUM MedTech has also developed a UV box for the purpose.
The product was initially planned only for hospitals. However, now the company has developed 3 more variants including a hotel/train and home bot after the COVID19 outbreak. The home bot will be of lesser power than the bot for hospitals to enable the household to disinfect their house and will be of use in households having elderly and decreased immunity individuals.
