BMW offers its car engine to BSDU for skill training

BMW, a German multifunctional company that produces automobiles and motorcycles, has lent a training hand to the Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU) by providing its car engine and suspensions to the students for their vocational and practical training.

BMW has come up with an initiative which would enhance and upskill the student’s practical knowledge. The company was willing to give the parts to the institution that was firm on providing hands-on practical training to the students. BSDU approached them and then, BMW found it the best place to invest in the training. The company has supplied the required parts to the university with free installation and a detailed training session for both the trainers as well as the students.

According to the university, this skill next training would help gain proficiency to work in BMW to the students through the training and the seminars conducted by them, when properly skilled. They would be projected to the industries for employment after being trained by the company.  The first batch to get the hands-on experience of this initiative will be the second year students of Bachelor of Vocational Studies.

Mr. Ankur Sagar, Assistant Professor, Bhartiya skill Development University says, “ BSDU adds value to the students by adding a lot of practical ways in their curriculum. We have in our lab a Honda city that has been painted by the students themselves.  The university has also provided its student with a new Volkswagen Paulo that has to be dismantled and train the students for future learning.”

Also, Mr. Dushyantsingh Jodha who is currently recruited as a Junior Engineer in RS India, on his views about BSDU speaks, “These industry academia initiatives help us to achieve our goal of developing our students ready for immediate employment. After higher secondary students join our course and within two months they are ready to be placed as interns in companies and get hands-on experience.”

Bhartiya Skill Development University is the first university in the country that offers Skills program to the students to excel in various skill areas. The university is planning to create a new campus which would be fully equipped with Wi-Fi and other state-of-the-art technologies which would give great exposure to the students to stand upright and upfront in the companies.
