One of India’s first generation manufacturing entrepreneurs and leading technocrat Shri Deb Bhushan Mukherjee passed away on 4th of June 2019. He was the Managing Director of Hydax Hydraulics Private Limited, a pioneering company in the field of hydraulics accessories manufacturing, based out of Bangalore.
Hailing from Bahrampur, West Bengal most of his life was spent at Bengaluru. Starting his career with Indian Navy, Shri. Mukherjee graduated from Naval College of Engineering, Lonavala in 1952. Before establishing Hydax Hydraulics he worked with Sperry Vickers India Private Limited. Shri Mukherjee established Hydax Hydraulics in the year 1979 with over 40 years of expertise behind him. Right from the inception of H, he focused on manufacturing products and solutions that would be indigenously designed, technologically superior and commercially viable, thus instilling the ‘Make in India’ spirit in his company years ahead of its first coinage.
Shri. Mukherjee is also credited with pioneering in the area of manufacturing hydraulic accessories in India. Hydax Hydraulics is specialty manufacturer of Fluid Level Gauge, Gauge Isolator Valve, Flexible Drive Coupling, Return Line Filter, Water Filter Housing, Pilot Check Valve and many more. From the field of agricultural machinery, mobile equipment to mining, marine and machine tool equipment, HYDAX caters to a wide spectrum of customers with products that are easy to assemble at very competitive prices.
What makes human being different is that, by the way, they live their life, they remain among people forever. Mr. Mukherjee, fondly called as Deb Uncle by Aarohi Foundation, an open learning community, devoted for children, is functioning their facility near Hosur, which was donated by him. Under his visionary guidance, Hydax Hydraulics has managed to design and manufacture products that are at par and most times, even better than others available in the world market, using available resources and applying sustained efforts. Meetali Mukherjee, Director of Hydax Hydraulics and Managing Director of Supertech Spares Pvt Ltd is his daughter. His son, Indranil Mukherjee is a six sigma auditor, and based at Singapore.
