Both plants will utilise Sulphuric Acid technology developed by Nuberg. Nuberg EPC has completed over seven Sulphuric Acid projects around the world. Projects won from International Company for Chemical Industry and Chemical Industry Corporation – Awash Melkassa Chemical Factory (CIC-AMCF) in Ethiopia and International Company for Chemical Industry (ICCI) in Egypt.

Nuberg EPC, a leading Indian global EPC and turnkey project management company, has won two Sulphuric Acid plant contracts in Egypt’s Gamasa City and Ethiopia’s Oromia. On an EPC & LSTK basis, the 500 MTPD + 5MW Rating STG Set in Egypt and the 50 TPD Sulfuric Acid + 40 TPD Aluminium Sulphate Revamp Project in Ethiopia were won.

From the contract LC starting date, the Egypt project is expected to be completed in 22 months and the Ethiopia project in 15 months.

Nuberg EPC’s superior Sulphuric Acid technology – Double Contact Double Absorption (DCDA) and execution capability have been recognised with these projects. The product gases Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) and Sulfur Trioxide (SO3) are passed through absorption towers twice in this process to obtain more absorption and higher-grade sulfuric acid production. Previously, the corporation constructed Sulfuric Acid plants in Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Turkey, Bangladesh, and Oman.

Nuberg EPC has established itself as a world-class Sulphuric Acid EPC-LSTK supplier throughout the years. This is also Egypt’s fifth turnkey project. A Caustic Soda plant for the Egyptian Petrochemical Company in Alexandria, a Calcium Chloride plant for TCI Sanmar Chemicals in Port Said, a Sulphuric Acid plant for AGROCHEM in Alexandria, and a 500 MTPD Sulphuric Acid Plant for Sprea Misr in Ramadan City, Egypt, are among the other projects.

Sulfuric acid is one of the most essential industrial chemicals and is used in a wide range of applications in the hydrocarbon (oil and gas) industry. Sulfuric acid is widely used in fertiliser manufacturing, petroleum refining to remove contaminants from gasoline, derivatives, and other refinery and petrochemical products, metal processing, and vehicles as the electrolyte in lead-acid storage batteries. Aluminium Sulphate, on the other hand, is a chemical utilised in the country as a coagulant in the purification of drinking water, paper sizing, and other industrial purposes.

A K Tyagi, Managing Director, Nuberg EPC, said after the project was awarded, “We are excited to continue to build on our clients’ trust in our Sulphuric Acid turnkey project expertise and engineering talent. Last year, the entire industry suffered difficult difficulties, but we nevertheless managed to meet our deadlines. We are looking forward to delivering ahead of schedule so that our clients can get a good start.”

“Process Design & Technology, including Product and Technology Development, Process Know-how & Licensing, Basic Engineering, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Construction Management, Operation & Maintenance, Detailed Engineering, Project Management, Commissioning, EPC & LSTK Solutions, Heavy Fabrication, and plant start-up,” he added.
