Curating the love for hardware’s and submitting themselves to open up to the market with something that has less tangibility, Johns T Mathai amalgamating his partnership with Kannappa, incorporated EyeRov. Johns T Mathai is an IIT Delhi Alumni whereas Kannappa being an IIT Madras Alumni on the other hand gave birth to this venture. They are currently pre-incubated at Makers Village, Kerala. Johns is an electrical engineer holding a postgraduate Degree in computer technology from IIT Delhi whereas Kannappa Holds Mechanical Engineering and has a master’s degree in ocean engineering from IIT Madras. The Duo before stepping into commencement of their established dreams, have had done and presented ample of robotics project and have also won laurels at National Level which includes Techfest too. John in his bag of experience brings three years of industrial experience (Grey orange Robotics, Samsung R & D Institute, Bangalore) while on the other hand Kannappa brings 2 years of experience in Saint Gobain, NIOT. The Duo integrating their thought process and zeal to visualize tangibility of their existence have a keen Eye for engineering creativity, EYEROV submerged into existence as their latest product. The Duo were the national level winners of National Hardware cup and had also represented India in the international finals held at Pittsburg USA on April 2017.
EyeROV is an underwater drone to perform visual inspection/survey of submerged structures. Since it is not possible for the humans to reach in all the aspects of depths, a cost effective underwater intervention was introduced which can visualize the depth up to 100m. EyeROV is a light rover which can be easily accessed and controlled with the supporting attached and connected hardware’s such as laptop and joystick. A camera is attached on to the underwater drone which gives the live video feed (Live video broadcast) of the underwater environment.
The drone is completely designed by the team at EyeROV and is manufactured with the help of various local vendors and suppliers, making this a truly make in India product. This indigenously developed commercial product from EyeROV is named as TUNA.
The product has a range of application in various industries which includes Ship Hull inspection, fish farm inspection, dam inspection, port structure inspection, bridge foundation inspection, salvaging operations, recreation, nuclear power plant, research institutions, navy, onshore and offshore, aquaculture, marine survey, oil and gas.
EyeROV provides a sophisticated yet economical solution for the eyes where humans are unable to reach and advances the growth of smart technology in hand. The technology provided by EyeROV minimizes human efforts and risks thus making it easier to calculate reliable machinery dependence with accuracy. EyeROV has an advanced computing software running on the collected data to provide user-relevant output in real time, in addition to photos and videos. They have been in the keen of faith of underwater technology and believe that the next leap in technology surrounding underwater is Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) and their commencement towards this future starts by building a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).

EyeROV has not only stepped towards the creation of a effective underwater drone but has also gained recognition from BPCL Project, Ankurstartup scheme and Kerala startup idea grant scheme. Standing tall, the company also has reputed mentors and advisors from Ex-DRDO, Ex-Navy and Marine Industry.
During the various inspections conducted by EyeROV. The ROV was capable of providing HD quality videos of the rudder and propellers, which were satisfactory. Also the vehicle was found safe operationally and was maneuverable in tight spaces too. The videos of underwater structures were also live streamed and with which the team were able to guide the vehicle to required points of interest to have close visuals. Overall the demonstration was satisfactory and they expect to employ the ROVs of EyeROV Technologies Pvt Ltd further when future requirements arise.
